#Empowering Underprivileged : A Story of Hope !
Santoshi Birhor is a young girl from the tribal village of Telangadih. She is the first girl in her village to have passed class 12th. During a routine health camp in Birhor colony, Telangadih, she was picked up for our Skill Development Program (SDP).
Her mother who had the opportunity to study till 8th was her constant support. Six months after she enrolled in our training program, she became proficient in professional skills and enrolled for an undergraduate course.
She became a beacon for us and opened the gates into the life in her community where we could identify the real health issues that are prevalent in the Particularly Vulnerable Tribe Groups (PVTG). Though she fumbled and could hardly speak a word in English, the SDP training groomed her into a capable girl who could recite an English poem flawlessly on completion of her 1-year course. Today, Santoshi is confident and motivated to empower and uplift her own community.
Girls like Santoshi from underprivileged (tribal) community are our source of inspiration to reach out to remote areas to provide equitable health and education!!
The First Step Every little step count
Khusboo’s life took a drastic turn when she was just 12 years old. Her father, the pillar of their family, passed away, leaving her mother to care for her and her younger sister alone. The loss was devastating, and Khusboo’s world was shattered.
Despite the overwhelming grief, Khusboo’s mother refused to let her children’s dreams slip away. She worked tirelessly to provide for them, encouraging Khusboo to focus on her studies. Khusboo, determined to make her mother proud, threw herself into her schoolwork.
As she grew older, Khusboo’s passion for learning only intensified. She completed her schooling and 12th standard with flying colors, earning a scholarship to pursue her graduation. However, she knew that a degree alone wouldn’t guarantee her a secure future. She needed skills, and that’s when she discovered Adhvaith India Foundation’s skill development program.
In 2022, Khusboo joined the program, which marked a turning point in her life. She underwent rigorous training, learning valuable skills that would equip her for the challenges of the real world. Her hard work paid off, and she excelled in the program, earning the opportunity to work with Adhvaith India Foundation as a coordinator.
Khusboo’s new role came with immense responsibility. She handled online and offline classes, spearheaded Project Lakshya, and led digitalization projects. Her dedication and leadership skills inspired her colleagues, and she quickly became a role model.
But Khusboo’s impact didn’t stop there. She traveled to Orrisa, where she conducted initiatives that positively impacted government school students. She coordinated with 50 schools and the NIIT team for the HP Alpha project, demonstrating her exceptional organizational skills. Under expert guidance, she spearheaded community surveys, relentlessly reaching out to villages in Jharkhand to enroll new students in skill development programs. Khusboo’s remarkable journey caught the attention of First Step magazine, which featured her story. The recognition was a testament to her unwavering dedication and passion.
Today, Khusboo continues to inspire others, proving that with hard work, determination, and resilience, anyone can overcome adversity and achieve greatness. Her story serves as a beacon of hope for those facing challenges, reminding them that they, too, can rise above their circumstances and create a brighter futur
